THANK YOU - WE DID IT!
Dear Friends of the SoPac Trail,
We recently completed our fifth year participating in Communities Foundation of Texas North Texas Giving Day, and this year, over $5,500 was donated, making it one of our most successful fundraising efforts. I personally thanked each donor, though some were very generous and anonymous. I hope this note finds them with our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
As I expressed gratitude to each donor, I highlighted the financial support and the vote of confidence that your donation represents. Rest assured, we will continue our efforts by picking up trash, painting over graffiti, tending the garden and trees on our Saturday workdays, and doing everything possible to maintain and improve the SoPac Trail.
Regarding improvements, we are currently working on a beautification project near the SoPac Trail monument. We are working with key SoPac Trail stakeholders to bring this initiative to life. MORE COMING SOON!
Also, I am proud to share that the City of Dallas Water Department has requested that our Respite Area pollinator garden be included in this year’s Water Wise Tour on Saturday, October 18th.
We consider this a great honor and recognition of all the work put into the garden by all our dedicated volunteers. We will provide details as the date gets nearer.
Lastly, I’d like to share that our “Friends” group is partnering with other local trail groups to form the Friends of The Dallas Loop. Together, we’re collaborating on shared goals that support and enhance the entire LOOP trail system. We’re also actively involved with the Dallas Trails Coalition, a broader network of Friends groups advocating for Dallas trails and supporting the Dallas Park and Recreation Department. Our current focus includes trail maintenance and safety initiatives—not just for the SoPac Trail, but across the entire Dallas trail system.
Again, thanks for all your support and see you on the trail!
