NTX Early Giving Begins - TODAY

Friends of The SoPac Trail,

It’s that time of year again. On Thursday, September 18, 2025, Friends of the SoPac Trail is participating in Communities Foundation of Texas' NTX Giving Day! Our goal this year is to raise $7,500.

Lucky for us, early giving starts…TODAY!

We are raising funds to support our mission of bringing people closer to nature, improving the trail, and making the experience a breath of fresh air for walkers, runners, and cyclists. We are all in!

As many of you who use the trail can see, we have been steady in our commitment to maintaining the trail and the amenities we have installed. YOUR NTX GIVING DAY GIFTS aid our volunteer work and have helped make these outcomes possible:

  • We have a monthly trash pick-up.

  • We monitor and report to the appropriate authorities issues that threaten the safety of trail users, from speeding motorized vehicles to the possibility of dangerous plants growing along the trail.

  • We have installed bridge signage and were instrumental in having the Department of Park and Recreation install new directional signage along the trail.

  • We remediate any graffiti immediately when it occurs.

  • We tend the garden and care for the many trees we have planted.

  • We ensure the irrigation system and drinking fountain are in working order.

  • We launched a SoPac Trail Garden Instagram page, and devote a good deal of time communicating with the general community through our various posts on Facebook, Instagram, and on our website.

  • We maintain our relationship with The Loop Dallas and The Dallas Trails Coalition to ensure that our efforts are aligned with the efforts of other trail groups in addressing the safety and maintenance of our trails.

In short, we are doing our best to take care of the trail for YOU. This requires a lot of sweat equity and financial support. You can count on us for the sweat equity. Can we count on you for financial support? Please support us in our efforts to provide the safest, cleanest, and most pleasant trail in the Dallas Trail System.
